I wrote this one Monday morning. It was not long after a time of fasting (intentionally going without food for a period, often accompanied by prayer) where positive changes had occurred in me – quite naturally and almost effortlessly.
After some weeks, though, “tentacles” began very slowly to pull me towards reversing the changes. It felt like time to embrace a firm “no” – perhaps even with “anger” – as in standing immovable on what I know is good for me and thus for those who live in my sphere of influence. This writing is my “no”.
This is really Part 2 of The Prime of Life. If you feel inclined, by all means read that piece first.
